Visiting the Hut

Katrina is amazed at the amount of dry vegetation.

Fallen gum tree limbs, shedding bark and leaf litter! Peter Cochran estimates 50 tonnes of vegetable litter per hectare within the Snowy Mountains National Park.

The amount of combustible material is appalling!

Katrina reported that what they had seen close at hand at Bimberi Reserve was repeated in the areas the Helicopter took the group.
